Jacob John

President

Jacob is the founder and lead pastor of Acts 29, Vancouver, a community deeply committed to planting and establishing churches both locally and globally. With a passion for Kingdom expansion, Jacob’s teaching reshapes mindsets and disciples' hearts so that the life of Jesus may be fully manifested through ordinary people in everyday places—for all to see. Jacob’s conviction is that the church is not an event or organization but a family—fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters walking together in spiritual growth. As Jacob often says, “If the Father raised a strong Son in Jesus to empty Him for the sake of the world, then we must raise a strong church to empty ourselves for the sake of Christ and the world.” He is the co-founder of TeleioStrategies, an equipping institute that empowers everyday people—not just professionals—to live out their faith wherever they are. TeleioStrategies is not just about education or producing students. It exists to prepare men and women to engage the world and reveal the life of the King and His Kingdom on earth. Jacob was born and raised in India, spent a season of his adult life in Bahrain, and now lives in Vancouver, Canada. He studied at Regent College and served as pastor of a local church in Vancouver from 1998 to 2006 before Acts29 Church started. His ministry has impacted people from all walks of life—business leaders, artists, professionals, students, and everyday disciples—across cultures and continents. Beyond pastoral work, Jacob is also an entrepreneur. He founded a local daily publication and has creatively launched a printing and design company. He is a huge Vancouver Canucks fan, an aviation enthusiast, and a lover of good coffee and meaningful conversations.
